I also loved hearing about the Kill Deer birds! I can just picture curious Quibble checking out the birds and their nests Hearing you tell of the intricate way that nature provides all living creatures with ways to defend their young, ways to interact with each other, and especially how babies of all kinds love to investigate, learn, and play, makes me yearn for the country lifestyle more than ever! I watched some babies running around in the adult males pasture this week. Mom just cannot keep up with them. So fun to watch.

I loved seeing the tiny baby Kill Deer running around in the pasture (under the watchful eye of momma) on shearing day. It was the first time I had seen babies…they look like miniature replicas of the adults. So cute. I love your story and the accompanying photos. And the fun caption under Quibble’s picture. Thanks for sharing!

Chicerina delivered on day 367; another female, this one is brown with white markings and named Quasar. Sahara is now at 354 days. What an odd Spring this is for birthing.
